Girl Games Terms & Conditions
Can we keep this simple? Or are you into all the legal jargon?
Terms and Conditions Fees and extraordinary circumstances
Let's get this one out of the way first, since money has the potential to cause problems.
It is $200 to participate in Girl Games.
Here is what that goes to:
Your swag bag
You will find that your swag bag alone will be worth the price of admission.
Facility reservations
It costs quite a lot to reserve the amazing rec center in Heber where indoor events will take place.
Equipment
Things like pickleballs, volleyballs, basketballs, Spikeball sets, and a bunch of other equipment that help make this experience fun and awesome.
Catered meals
Friday evening for dinner and Saturday for lunch, we will have a catered meal for everyone to enjoy while you try to outwit and out-bluff your competition.
Prizes
We will have prizes for everyone.
If you or someone on your team cannot attend, please find a replacement. The replacement can pay her fee to the participant who is unable to attend to refund the person who can't make it.
Sportsmanship and conduct
Girl Games may seem like a massive organization with a brilliant executive team and perfectly organized events… it is not. It is a few passionate individuals and several amazing volunteers who do our best to put on an unbelievable event full of good times while trying to keep everyone safe.
Winning is important, but sportsmanship is vital for us to get through so many events over two days. Fighting, seeking to cause intentional harm, and inappropriately aggressive conduct, physical or verbal, will not be tolerated. If someone is violating basic sportsmanship, the first instance will be a warning. The second instance will be disqualification from the event in play, resulting in 0 points for the team in that event. A third instance will be disqualification from Girl Games (fees will not be refunded). If the first instance is severe enough, that alone could qualify that individual to be sent off.
Rule #1 of Girl Games: Don't be a jerk.
Waivers of liability
As part of acknowledging the Terms is also acknowledging this waiver of liability. By participating, you agree that you will not hold Man Games, Girl Games, any of the officers, other participants, volunteers, nor the facilities at which we will play, liable or responsible for any injury or illness that may occur.
You agree and hold these facilities, their officers, directors, employees, and agents free and harmless from and against any and all losses, claims, or injuries obtained while on the premises of these facilities.
These facilities include, but are not limited to:
Wasatch County Parks and Rec
(The Joyce and M. Anthony Burns Recreation Center)
(Southfield Park)
Utah Roundnet
We are playing multiple sports over two days that involve physical exertion with a group of grownups, so injury and/or illness is a possibility. If you have a pre-existing illness or injury that would put yourself or others at risk, we ask that you find an alternate to replace you on your team.
If you are pregnant, please do not participate in Girl Games.
Some participants are bringing their personal equipment to help make Girl Games more enjoyable. For those bringing equipment, you understand that we will do everything we can to ensure its safety and working order. In the event your equipment is damaged unintentionally or through the normal use of that equipment, you will not hold the Man Games, Girl Games, participants, facilities, or individuals responsible.
Equipment will also be provided by Man Games, Girl Games, and Utah Roundnet to use and borrow throughout the event. Please take necessary steps not to damage the equipment. If a participant knowingly and intentionally damages, destroys, or renders equipment beyond repair, that participant will be responsible for compensating the owner of that equipment for damages equal to that equipment’s value at the time of use.
Use of photos, videos, and results
We will be documenting this event with photos, videos, and results of the event. Girl Games will not display photos or videos publicly that would damage the reputation of any participants. We will be using photos and videos to show events in action that portray Girl Games as the awesome experience that it is. You acknowledge that photos obtained during Girl Games that meet the above criteria of use can be used on the Girl Games social media pages (instagram.com/thegirlgames/) and the Man Games website (girlgames.co).
If any photo or video is used that you feel is harmful to you, please reach out to me and I will remove it without question. If you would like photos for yourself, reach out, and I'm happy to provide what we have (or just steal it from our Instagram account).
